3p - 7p:  Finishing up the work day and driving you home every Monday through Friday...

Say Hello once in a while:
E-mail me any old time with a question or comment.  I'd LOVE to hear from you !
DJKoolSkip@aol.com
Personal: Married to my best friend Stacie since 2001, 3 cool kids - Tyler (age 14), Zak (age 6) and my 'princess', Alexa (2)

Hobbies: Working out and trying to keep that boyish figure.  It gets harder with each passing year, however.   (Were'nt these same weights a bit lighter 20 years ago?)  Photography, playing kids games with the boys, holding hands with my wife, martial arts.

Favorite Music Artists: Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, Elton John, Billy Joel

Favorite Sports Teams: Being from New England I am a devoted Patriots and Red Sox fan (2004 was a VERY good year....and 2007 was good until Feb 3rd, 2008 - SuperBowl Sunday.......)  I have also grown to like the Dolphins and the Marlins since living in South Florida, too.

Favorite TV Shows: I have to admit it....I am a reality show junkie.  Survivor, American Idol, Last Comic Standing, America's Got Talent, Big Brother and the Apprentice will keep my attention.  I also like Professional Wrestling and Desperate Housewives.  Eclectic, you say???!!!

Favorite Getaways: New England.  Returning to your "roots" is always cleansing and keeps you grounded.  I also like the west coast of Florida (my wife's family is over there - yes, I actually like my Mother-in-Law...) and my living room.  I escape to these places often.

Professional Influences:  When growing up, I used to listen to a hometown radio station with an afternoon guy whose name was (and still is) "Duncan Dewar".  I thought he sounded so cool and I wanted to do what he was doing for a living.  I am touch with Duncan to this day.

Philosophy:   Character is doing the right thing even when nobody is looking.

If you want to save money on your next family vacation, listen up!

A recent study found that 55 percent of travelers don’t stick to their budget while they’re away. Don’t let that be you! Here’s how to keep from breaking your vacation bank:

If you’d like discounts at theme parks, check out eBay and do a search for "theme park tickets." You’ll find all kinds of two-for-one deals, family packs, and discounts for theme parks everywhere.

If you plan to hit a few National Parks, like Yosemite, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon, those 3 entry fees alone will cost you $60 bucks. So, get a Parks Pass at "NationalParks.org". For $50 bucks, your whole family can get into any national park in the U.S. free for a whole year!

If you’re going to a major city, like New York, Chicago, or Hollywood, try "CityPass.com". A pass can save you up to 50 percent when you visit several tourist attractions in the area.

And one final trick for saving money on your next "vay-kay": When you’re looking for souvenirs, avoid the gift shops, and hit the local Costco or Wal-Mart. According to travel expert Pauline Frommer, superstores carry the same T-shirts and postcards minus the tourist price-hikes.

ROMANCE HAS NO PLACE IN MARRIAGE
Monday 06-15-2009 3:31pm PT
The honeymoon is over -- exactly two years, six months and 25 days into a marriage. A new survey of five thousand couples who've been married for at least 10 years by British research company onepoll.com has found that's the exact length of time it takes before people start to take their spouses and their relationships for granted. Here are some other results:

* 83% say they stopped celebrating the day they met by the time they're married three years

* 64% of couples are likely to leave their dirty clothes around the house by their second anniversary

* 75% of couples wouldn't give the TV remote control to their partner, even if he or she asked nicely

* 83% say they held hands in public in the first few months after being married

* 38% say they hold hands in public today

* 43% have not had breakfast in bed since tying the knot

* 60% say they haven't been surprised with a romantic night out since saying "I do"

* 61% claim they happily recall the first time they ever saw their spouse

* 79% of men don't think twice about leaving the toilet seat up

* two-thirds of women don't bother to try and look nice for their husbands

* 54% of women don't put on makeup for their husbands

* 61% of women say they immediately put on pajamas or sweatpants after coming home from work
How to Stay Awake at Work
Monday 06-15-2009 3:29pm PT
Going through the motions at your mundane, boring job can literally PUT YOU TO SLEEP . . . no matter what you do to try to stop it.  Here are some things you can do to try to stay awake at work . . .

#1.)  BRING COFFEE, SNACKS AND GUM.  These things will give you energy . . . and the gum should give you something to do . . . so you don't get bored and fall asleep.  Careful with the coffee, though, because the caffeine could make you crash later on.

#2.)  DON'T REST YOUR EYES OR LAY YOUR HEAD DOWN.  This is pretty obvious, but when you do this . . . it'll be more likely that you'll fall asleep at your desk.  Don't rest your head in your hand, either.

#3.)  MOVE AROUND.  Get up from your desk and walk around the office.  You have to keep that energy up, because staring at your computer screen all day is probably one of the most boring things that you can possibly do.

#4.)  TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS.  If, for some reason, The Man doesn't offer you unlimited breaks . . . take a bathroom break.  While you're there, splash some cold water on your face to wake yourself up.

#5.)  GET HELP FROM CO-WORKERS.  You know how you always see the wage-slaves on "The Office" play games to alleviate their boredom?  If some of your co-workers are cool enough, maybe you can gather them together to do the same.
