Clear Channel Radio, Portland sponsors and participates in a variety of community service projects each year to meet the needs of each and every community we serve. We call these initiatives Local Spirit.

Because of our deep involvement and connection to our local communities, we’re able to make philanthropic decisions that have the greatest impact on local neighborhoods. Whether it’s in support of children’s hospitals and shelters, food banks, educational programs, healthcare, cultural enhancement or a myriad of other issues important to local communities, Clear Channel’s Local Spirit shines through.

Local Spirit is driven by the communities where our employees work and live. We strive to serve locally in all that we do.

Local Clear Channel Portland Employees served their communities by completing over 800 hours of community service in 2009.

• Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Oregon and SW Washington. Clear Channel Portland is proud to be the exclusive radio partner for the Race for the Cure for more than twenty years.  Clear Channel Radio assists Susan G. Komen for the Cure with several annual events in our mission to help create a world without breast cancer.

• Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon -grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  K103-FM is honored to work with Make-A-Wish every year.

• SOLV - Clear Channel Radio Portland Cares about our Environment, and that’s why we support SOLV with an annual online auction and promote their biannual Beach Clean-Ups.  SOLV is Oregon’s premiere Environmental Group, working together for this treasure called Oregon.

• DoveLewis - DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital is Portland’s Unique Non Profit Emergency Animal Hospital, providing 24-hour emergency, critical care, education and community outreach.

• Oregon Humane Society - For 141 years OHS has been sheltering abandoned animals, fighting cruelty and neglect, and working to build a caring, compassionate community.

• Providence Child Center - The Providence Child Center provides a rich continuum of services for children, and is home to the Center for Medically Fragile Children, a pediatric skilled nursing facility; Providence Neurodevelopmental Center for Children, comprehensive neurodevelopmental evaluation and therapy services; and Jean Baton Swindells Resource Center for Children and Families, education and information source for families, caregivers and friends of children who have special needs.
